Operation at Stake Hill

We recently conducted a proactive operation at Stake Hill Industrial Estate in response to ongoing concerns about thefts in the area. During this operation, officers successfully prevented a theft at the same location where previous incidents had occurred.  As part of the operation, two males were stop-searched at the scene. While the searches did not uncover any stolen property or prohibited items, further checks revealed that the vehicle they were using was being driven without insurance and the driver did not hold a valid licence. Consequently, the vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

Additionally, one of the males was found to be wanted for theft offences in West Yorkshire. He was arrested and later charged with these offences at custody, alongside charges for the driving offences identified during the operation.

This outcome demonstrates the value of targeted policing operations in tackling crime and ensuring offenders are brought to justice. We remain committed to working with our communities to prevent crime and keep Stake Hill Industrial Estate a safe place for businesses.
